The action has custom vine type scroll hand engraving w/ punch dot backgrounds. Right side features a scene w/ a pointer retrieving a pheasant. Left scene depicts two flushing pheasants. Scenes & edges of the receiver sides are highlighted by gold wire inlay. Breech bolt & carrier have custom jeweled finish. Oversized beavertail forearm & hard rubber capped custom pistol grip stock of fancy walnut w/ segmented fleur-de-lis borderless hand checkering. LOP: 13 1/2" over a solid red Winchester pad. Mfg. 1947. CONDITION: metal retains over 90% reblued finish showing some remaining spots of pitting on the barrel and mag. tube. Mag. cap screw is a replacement, mag. band retainer is not present. Wood has a dull finish w/ poor fit at the receiver. Functioning action. Barrel has two noticeable bulges approx. 4 1/2" & 6" forward of the receiver. (25-1327/DS). CURIO. $1,000-2,000.
